Red Fish Blue Fish has photographed Bar and Bat Mitzvahs since 2004 and we love it! We capture everything–from formal family portraits to the donning of the tallit, the reading of the torah to the Aliyah blessings on the bimah.
At your party, we won’t miss any of the fun–your friends, the decor, your candle lighting ceremony, the hora, the great candid moments and of course, the dance floor.

How We Do Mitzvah Services
At Herzl Ner Tamid and other Orthodox temples, families schedule 4.5 to 6 hours of photography services. Thursday rehearsal – 1 1/2 to 2 hours (one hour for rehearsal and 30-60 minutes for family portraits)
We’ll capture all the classic photos and more! Big families and nice weather? Having extra time lets us photograph all the extended family and get outside to the gorgeous lake!
At Temple de Hirsch and other Reform temples, families schedule 6 to 7 hours of photography services. Portraits and service – 2 1/2 to 3 hours
Depending on family size, we’ll start at 3 or 3:30 for portraits. Then we’ll discretely capture the signing and service!
How we do Mitzvah Parties
Families usually schedule 3-4 hours.
(It’s fun to have coverage through the whole night, but as long as your events are scheduled earlier, it’s ok to not cover the last hour.)
We’ll start with the details and end with the dance floor! And snap everything in between!
